The Stardust

The Stardust is a resort and casino located in 63 acres on the Strip. It is owned by Boyd Gaming Corporation. The original resort was conceived and built by Tony Cornero, though he died in 1955 before construction was completed. In 2007, construction will begin on Echelon Place, which is expected to replace The Stardust.
History
The Stardust is one of the oldest hotels on the strip and opened on July 2 1958. When the hotel opened, it had the largest casino and swimming pool in Nevada. Siegfried & Roy got their Las Vegas start at the Stardust. In 2006, Boyd Gaming Corporation announced that the Stardust would be replaced by a new project called Echelon Place scheduled to open 2010.

"The Stardust is a nice hotel. Rooms and amenities are good and if you are on a budget, this is a great place to stay. The bar is pretty cosy and they have live shows most of the time. However the Stardust is located a little too far to the north of the Strip and those Vegas miles are really pretty far. Secondly, it seems the hotel attracts senior visitors. While we were there, I have been trying very hard to discover people in the casino that were below 50. The value for money is good, but if you are interested in staying in a hotel that has it all (bars, restaurants, clubs, gambling, young crowd etc.) I would definitely suggest the New York, New York hotel as a better option because of the people and the location."

"Good quality for the price, friendly staff and not too far from the other casinos. I requested a handicap room, no problem, two would be available soon, two different floors, if I had no preference to floor, one would be available about 11 or 12. Very accommodating staff as I said. I will continue to stay there as long as it is standing!"

"We stayed at the Stardust and had a great vacation. We upgraded to a suite in the west tower, great room with a huge bathroom. It had a mini bar area and a safe. The slots could have been looser but maybe just my luck. Ate breakfast free from the players club and had a sit down steak and lobster for 8.99 that was quite tasty. Wish I was there right now!"
