The Palms

The Palms Hotel Las Vegas has 802 rooms and contains a 95,000 square foot casino, a recording studio and a 2,200 seat showroom and is owned and operated by the Maloof family. Despite the fact that it is located off the Strip, the resort has become a popular and hip destination for many, especially with the younger crowd and Hollywood celebrities.

History

The Palms opened on November 15, 2001 and was designed by Jon Jerde. In October of 2005, the second tower, dubbed the "Fantasy Tower", opened at a cost of $600 million. In keeping with the Maloof family basketball interest, the new tower includes a two story 10,000 square foot suite that includes the worlds only basketball court in a hotel suite. The suite includes a locker room.

The second tower is not complete, but portions are being opened while the higher floor are still being constructed. Recently Maloof announced a third condo tower called Palms Place to be built on the west end of the Palms property. This third and final tower is now under construction.

Recent Reviews

"Palms offers an outstanding environment for young, let me stress younger, adults aged 21-35 tops. With its club themes and interesting variety of restaurants, there is something to do every night. Maloof family really knows what they are doing. Rooms are nice, nothing amazing, if you want that go to Venetian. Again this hotel is marketed at a younger crowd, in fact the youngest crowd possible in Las Vegas, so if you are over 35 you may feel out of the mix. Will be repeating customer there until I turn 35."

"I stayed here in the middle of December 2002 (best time for Vegas) I booked the room for 4 nights and let's just say for what I paid I wouldn't be able to get more than a room downtown (once again mid December is a great time to go). The room was Great with Egyptian cotton sheets, however my "strip" view was facing CA....But hey better than being stuck downtown! They bring you a USA Today every morning and Guests also get in to the Ghost Bar free and Thursday night at Rain get yourself on the VIP list and see how the pretty people party! The thing that sticks out in my mind is when I arrived home after my trip I realized I had left my swimsuit hanging on the bathroom door....I called and they actually had it with a claim number and said they would hold it for me!!!! This place is owned by the Maloof family and they really do know what customer service is! I've found a new favourite place in Vegas!"
