The Mandalay Bay

The Mandalay Bay hotel Las is owned by MGM Mirage and floors 35-39 of the main hotel building are used by the Four Seasons Hotel. Mandalay Bay has 3,309 hotel rooms and a casino of 135,000 ft² (13,000 m²). The adjacent Mandalay Bay Convention Center has almost one million ft² (93,000 m²) of space. In addition, the Mandalay Bay Events Center hosts events from boxing to concerts.
History
The resort opened on March 2, 1999 and is located on the former grounds of the Hacienda. The convention center was added in January 2003. When it opened, it was ranked as the fifth largest in the United States. It also offered the largest unobstructed ballroom in the country, at 100,000 ft² (9,000 m²). In 2004 a new 43-story tower was opened with 1,120 suites, called THEhotel at Mandalay Bay.
As of June, 2006, Mamma Mia! was the long-term stage production at Mandalay Bay. This resort features the 11-acre (4.5 ha) Mandalay Beach with two heated pools, a wave pool, topless pool and a lazy river that features a small waterfall. There are also two restaurants at the Beach. The pool area is considered among the best in Las Vegas.
In keeping with the resort's tropical Asia theme, it features the Shark Reef, a saltwater aquarium containing over a million gallons (3.7–million l) of water. Another popular attraction is the House of Blues, a venue for live music and a restaurant, with a capacity of approximately 1,800. The Four Seasons Las Vegas has a private pool and lounge area that is accessible only to Four Seasons guests. A little known fact is that the Four Seasons has disposable swimsuits for guests to wear should they come to the pool unprepared.

"Stayed 5 nights, great stay, clean large rooms, nice bath, good food, nice shopping, love the pools, really enjoyed it except for the smell of the hotel, what is that smell? Vanilla candles? Not sure but it really made my allergies act up. Would not stay here again only because the smell really bothered me."

"Hotel is pretty good - I like the room. However, what is with the stupid dress codes? I arrive in jeans and sneakers and most of the clubs were off limit - stupid idea. Pretty sad when you are judged based on how you dress. I agree - no trashy clothes - but sneakers? I guess if your not a wanna be wearing clothes you can't afford, then the clubs are off limits. Based on this alone I wouldn't return to Mandalay Bay - when I am traveling on the road, I want to dress clean but comfortable."
