Las Vegas Golf Courses
The middle of the Nevada desert may seem like an unlikely location for a golf course but actually there are over 40 golf courses in and around Las Vegas. In fact Las Vegas is becoming a popular destination for golf package vacations.

The course nearest to The Strip is the Bali Hai golf club, it is located near the Mandalay Bay hotel towards the South end of The Strip. It is a championship course designed by Brian Curley and Lee Schmidt with a standard par of 72. It is described as a tropical paradise with many water features including one green that is actually an island.
This is considered to be the best golf course in Las Vegas, however it is not cheap and may be too much of a challenge for the inexperienced golfer. You can save money by teeing off after 15:00, it is around half the price of a morning start.

The Las Vegas National is another well located golf course, it is around 2 miles from The Strip. This is a quality course with a par of 71 that is peppered with pine, palm and olive trees. A few mid-range par 5 holes offer good birdie opportunities and the green fees are around half the cost of the Bali Hai.
Bear's Best golf club is another Vegas favourite. This course was designed by golf legend Jack Nicklaus and is just a 20 minute drive from central Las Vegas. This mid-price range course has the amazing backdrop of the Red Rock Mountains. After a hard days golf you can relax at Jack's Place Grille and Lounge, a large outdoor eating area full of golfing memorabilia charting the career of Mr Nicklaus.
