The Barbary Coast Hotel Las Vegas was built in 1979 and is owned and operated by Boyd Gaming Corporation. With only 196 rooms, it is one of the smaller properties on the strip. With it's old wood and stained glass interior, it is one of the few establishments on the Strip to offer the feeling of the old Las Vegas.

On September 6, 2005, Boyd Gaming purchased the 4.3 acres of land under the hotel for $16 million. The hotel had been leasing the land prior to this point.

"I can assure yau that you will never find a Hotel-Casino on the strip that has a friendlier staff. When you are at the Barbary Coast, you're considered part of the family. From it's Victorian Room with a great Chinese-American menu to both Michaels and Drai's, the Barbay Coast has something for everyone, including the best location on the strip."

"Best spot on the Strip. Young adult crowd at night and the drinks kept on coming! The 24 hr cafe had a good graveyard special from 12-6am. Small casino but I liked that because I did not lose my friends compared to bigger casinos. I've recommended this place to many of my friends."

"Room was both clean and large. The location could not have been better and the price was not as blood sucking as other hotels in that same area! Service was slow and most times not very friendly. Casino is small but was fine and slots seemed to play better than at the bigger casinos. All in all it is one of the better places to stay if you don't need glitz and glitter, just a nice clean room in a great location."
